The 40nm AQ1402 is the industry’s highest performance, lowest power and smallest quad-port 10GBASE-T PHY
With power consumption as low as a couple Watts per port for intra-rack connectivity (what we call the “Data Center mode”), and 4.0W per port for 100m of Cat6A/Cat7 cable, this new generation of PHYs from Aquantia proves once again the technical superiority and advantage of the MMSP architecture.
In a 25mm package, the AQ1402 is the smallest Quad-port 10GBASE-T in the industry, which enables a single-row placement of ICs in 48-port Top-of-Rack (ToR) or End-of-Row (EoR) switches. The single row implementation has the advantage of higher density, better airflow and shorter trace length between the IC and the Integrated Connector Module (ICM) on the front, resulting into an overall cleaner and lower-cost system design.
