Faraj Aalaei

President and CEO

Faraj Aalaei is a 27-year veteran of the communications industry. Prior to joining Aquantia, Faraj was the guiding force behind Centillium’s successful track record as a leading innovator of high performance, cost effective semiconductor solutions for broadband access networks. Under his leadership, Centillium went from seed financing to NASDAQ IPO in 3 years, the fastest ever for a semiconductor company. An industry pioneer and holder of two patents, Aalaei has spent the last three decades at the forefront of technical advancements - from helping develop the world's first broadband modem for CATV networks to the introduction of Centillium's high capacity convergent technology for DSL, optical and VoIP applications.

Prior to co-founding Centillium in 1997, Aalaei held a variety of management and engineering positions at leading technology providers, where he applied his expertise to the development of DSLAM, Digital Loop Carrier and Fiber-to-the-Curb products at Fujitsu; the first SONET system and the first high speed two way systems for CATV networks at Bell Labs. He began his career at MA/COM designing very high speed satellite communications systems. Aalaei holds an BSEE from Wentworth Institute of Technology, MSEE from University of Massachusetts and an MBA from University of New Hampshire. Faraj is a member of the board of directors of TranSwitch Corporation and a Trustee of his alma mater Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Kamal Dalmia

VP Sales & Marketing

Kamal Dalmia has extensive experience in the semiconductor industry spanning three generations of Ethernet products. Prior to joining Aquantia, Kamal has served in the roles of vice president of marketing at Teranetics and director of marketing at Marvell. He has led marketing teams for industry leading Ethernet transceivers and was instrumental in success of several Gigabit, 10 Gigabit and Fast Ethernet physical layer products.

Previously, he has held various management and engineering positions at Cypress Semiconductor and PMC Sierra, focusing on PHYs for Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, SONET and ATM. He holds several US patents and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

Phil Delansay

VP Business Development

Phil is Aquantia's founding president & CEO, position that he held till early 2009 as Faraj Aalaei came on board to lead the company into the next stage of expansion. Phil has held a number of management roles in the communication IC and systems industry for the past 15 years.

After starting his career at NEC and Alcatel, Phil joined Lightera Networks, later acquired by Ciena. Prior to co-founding Aquantia, Phil was Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Greylock Partners. He received his Ph.D. in Semiconductor Physics from Orsay University and his MSEE from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité, France.

Ramin Farjad

Chief Architect

Ramin Farjad has established himself as a leading architect of high performance, high bandwidth communications circuits. As a founding member of Velio communications (later acquired by Rambus), he contributed to the development of multiple generations of multi-Gbps serial transceivers in high-throughput networking switches. At Rambus, he developed the company’s next-generation, multi-Gbps backplane transceivers. He holds Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Ahmad Ghaemmaghami

VP Operations

Ahmad has over 20 years of experience in semiconductor operations. Before joining Aquantia, he was vice president of manufacturing operations at AMCC, where he was responsible for strategic business development, planning and directing all aspects of the operations organization’s initiatives. He previously led operations at Silicon Image. Ahmad holds four patents and received his BSEE from the University of California at San Diego.

Linda Reddick

CFO

Linda Reddick has more than 25 years of corporate finance experience primarily with public high-technology companies in ... the telecommunications and semiconductor industries. Linda joined Aquantia from Oviso Manufacturing, where she was CFO, which was acquired by Benchmark Electronics in May 2009. Prior to Oviso, she held the position of VP and CFO at Centillium Communications. Prior to Centillium, Linda held executive financial positions at Avanex Corporation and Oplink Communications.

During her career, Ms. Reddick has been instrumental in the integration of strategic acquisitions and in transitioning high-growth start-up companies into mature entities. She began her professional career with Mohler & Accountancy Corporation and later served as a Manager of Deloitte & Touche. Linda is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Hossein Sedarat

VP DSP & Firmware

Hossein Sedarat brings 20 years of experience in digital communication and signal processing applications. He has been involved in a range of products in DSL and voice-band modems, Gigabit Ethernet, magnetic recording read channels, multi-media processing. He is a senior member of IEEE association and holds more than 10 US and international patents with many more pending. He has authored a number of scientific and technical papers and has made significant contributions to standard bodies such as ITU-T and IEEE. He has received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Ramin Shirani

VP Engineering

Ramin Shirani has participated in the development of each generation of UTP-based Ethernet PHYs, including low-power 1000BASE-T technology for multi-port devices. Ramin began his career at National Semiconductor. His accomplishments also include the co-founding of Enable (acquired by Agere) and Plexus Networks. He holds 10 patents and received both his BSEE and MSEE from UC San Diego.
